Smart? Have Grit? Valleysteer Needs YOU!
Valleysteer is a healthcare startup that provides technology enabled services. We help doctors and insurance companies lower costs and improve patient outcomes through better coordination and reduced waste.
We’re building a small, remote-first, competent technology team to create and maintain applications and data pipelines. We build machine learning based processes and tools that enable our staff to find outcome-changing needles in the large healthcare forms and charts haystack.
We need the skills listed below. We are a small team, so be prepared to take on new challenges and wear multiple hats as necessary. We are looking for smart people who learn quickly and have determination. We want engineers who value autonomy and pragmatism. If you think you can help, please submit your resume or questions to tech-jobs@valleysteer.com
Our current top need is for a full stack developer, but we are always hiring +EV staff regardless of the specific role.
Full Stack Software Developer
We have built internal tooling to enable our staff to apply machine learning and LLMs to various healthcare back office workflows. These tools enable our staff to coordinate and track work among each other and our customers, utilize ML models to automate portions of the workflow, and review and refine outputs. The current tech stack for these tools is React/Typescript on the front end and Django/Python for the web server. We have consolidated our tooling down to a single application that is capable of handling multiple different workflows.
Core functionality of our tools include:
- Gathering and labeling healthcare data
- Building, evaluating, and monitoring ML assisted workflows
- Measurement and comparison of different workflow variations and ML models
- Producing reports and export artifacts for our customers
This role involves developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining our applications and tools. You will work with the clinical and product teams to communicate technical constraints, negotiate tradeoffs, and ultimately implement and maintain the workflows and tooling to manage them. Our design approach is to hand off all critical path workflow tasks to the ops team over time, with the development team efforts focus on improving the tools.
If you want to take ownership of and improve our current and future tools, help us discover new best practices for language model usage, and want hard working, smart coworkers, please contact us!
